Its finally here!! Swimming at Harthill Reservoir is about to commence…
April 9, 2014 11:34 amAfter almost two years of work, talking to the Canal and River Trust and Rotherham Sailing Club, writing risk assessments, taking power boat safety courses and so much more we have finally reached our goal of obtaining permission to hold regular swimming sessions at Harthill Reservoir.
Our official licence from the Canal and River Trust has now arrived and we are pleased to announce that swimming will commence from next week on Saturday 12th April and we will then hold regular sessions every Saturday and Wednesday throughout the summer. The only exceptions will be on the dates when our admin team are out at other locations running events in our calendar (see the calendar page for details), unless we have enough trusted members from YOS and RSC who volunteer to run the Harthill events in our absence.
We would be extremely grateful if members could help out at events where possible, we need volunteer spotters, first aiders and assistants to help run our events and when members volunteer to help it means that our admin team get the chance of a swim at the sessions occasionally too.
